Siding & Mud

Siding was completed today and the first coat of drywall "mud" was added today.  Looking more like a home everyday now.

Completed siding.  The little white marks are the caulking on the nails and joints.  Finished color will be applied later.

First coat or "mud" was slung today.  Literally slung, you should see the floors and everywhere.  They aren't very careful.

Garage Doors

More siding was completed today, and we have garage doors! That was kind of fun to see. No tape and mud yet, but hopefully tomorrow.

The hall looks super long in this picture! First door on the left is a bedroom, then bath, and another bedroom. Door at the end is a bed room, then on the right is a storage closet.

Oh, and they started the siding too! An added bonus. This isn't the final color, it will be painted.

Any surprise is a good surprise

Over the weekend we just had to get out of town and get our minds off the construction of the house, so we took a 3 day trip to Utah to see friends, family and do some sightseeing.  On Friday June 20th we heard from our fantastic new neighbors that Sheetrock had been delivered.  We were hoping that it would be delivered the night before so they would start on Friday, but nonetheless we are just happy to see it there and waiting to start getting installed on Monday 6/22 and we can't wait to see it installed!

Now the surprise: yesterday (6/21) after we returned from our quick trip, we drove out to the house to see the Sheetrock in the house.  I know that might sound boring, but we just wanted to see some progress at this point.  When we drove up to the house we saw that the siding had been unwrapped and there was some cut pieces laying on the ground.  To our surprise they had started on the siding and weren't waiting until Monday to start - yeah!!

After a long delay due to some framing issues found during the framing inspection, work on the house has made some progress.  During the delay Shingles and Siding were delivered.

The most significant progress was on Thursday June 18th Insulation was installed and passed it's inspection. Onto covering all the bare wood up now!!!
