There I was minding my own business, when out of the blue a thought comes to me. I didn't know then the significance that one little thought would have on us over the next few months.
I came home and told Ron that maybe it was time that we look into buying a house. When we moved back to Idaho from Ohio we had planned on renting for a time, until we saved some money and had decided where we wanted to settle. We have enjoyed our last 3 years in Kuna, and thought we would look here. We did some preliminary work with a loan company and started looking around. About a month later we got a call from our management company and they said that the owner of our house was going to liquidate all of their rental properties and that our house would be sold at the end of our contract, unless we wanted to purchase it. We have felt a little squished here and didn't feel like we were supposed to stay, so we politely turned down the offer to buy this house and increased our efforts at looking elsewhere.
Our next decision was to look at existing homes or building something. We looked at several existing homes in the area and in the surrounding areas and didn't see anything that would meet our needs. We also looked at two builders and found homes with each of them that we liked. It was a hard decision, that involved lots of prayer and pondering, but we settled on a lot in Caldwell, Idaho that backs up to the church building we will attend. It felt right in that neighborhood and at that spot, so we signed a contract with Hubble Homes and are building the Lincoln!
It will be sad to leave the good friends we have made here in Kuna, but we are looking forward to our next adventure and to meeting more wonderful people in our new community. We don't know yet what our purpose will be in Caldwell, but we are willing to serve and grow wherever the Lord plants us. Each time we move I wish I could wrap up all the great friends I've made and take them with me, but alas I haven't been able to do it yet.
